Workplace Qualifications for 16-24 yr olds

Increase your competitiveness in the workplace!

Are you currently aged 16-24, employed and based in London? If yes, then you might be interested in completing a workplace qualification to boost your CV.

Diploma qualifications are available fully funded to young people aged 16-24 who have not accessed university education and are in employment. These qualifications are not available to current university students or graduates. The qualifications can take between 3-6mths to complete.

Diplomas (Apprenticeships) available include:
• Customer Service Level 2 Certificate
• Customer Service Level 3 Diploma
• Business Administration Level 2 Certificate
• Business Administration Level 3 Diploma
• Team Leading Level 2 Certificate
• Management Level 3 Certificate

Career Support Mobile App launched by Striding Out

We've just launched our first mobile app to provide career support to young people as part of our Your Nxt Step programme.

The app is downloadable using iphone, ipad or ipod.

The Your Nxt Step App provides careers guidance and interactive tools to help them pursue and fullfil their career ambitions.


The App provides support in the following areas:-
* Deciding on a career choice
* Developing key skills
* Job search techniques
* Applying for job opportunities
* Preparing for the workplace
* Planning long term career goals

Leadership and Management Grant

Striding Out can provide support to leaders and managers in the following areas:-  
  • Developing an effective personal leadership and management style (e.g. strategic thinking; effective communication)
  • Creating a joint enterprise culture with the workforce (e.g. working culture; relationships; managing conflict)
  • Planning and developing an effective organisation and teams (e.g. recruitment/selection; team building; conveying vision; objective setting)
  • Leading and managing high employee performance (e.g. employee motivation; delivering value; learning & development). 
  • Training which impacts directly on the performance of the whole organisation and its capacity to grow (e.g Financial Planning, Business Startegy)

The Leadership and Management Grant can fund 50% of training or coaching support (up to £2000) if you are a business owner with 2 or more employees and have a vision for high growth over the next three years.

Grow Your Business Workshops – September 2011

Striding Out is pleased to announce a set of workshops aimed at supporting young  entrepreneurs in Liverpool.

The workshops will be delivered by Striding Out Coaches; Simon Ireland-Davies, Fiona Biggins, Heather Wilkinson and Alison Richards:

 

“Leadership & Your Enterprise”

This workshop is aimed at small business owner who is considering recruiting or already has a small team in place. We’ll talk through the basics of great leadership, and how you can use team dynamics to improve customer service, employee satisfaction and make employing people a stress free experience.

The workshops will be led by Striding Out coaches Simon Ireland-Davies and Fiona Biggins.

“Project Management Skills”

This workshop is aimed at people considering starting or who have recently started a social enterprise. It will be delivered by experienced Project Manager and Striding Out Coach, Alison Richards, who is a member of the Striding Out coaching team.

The workshops will be delivered by Striding Out Chair Heather Wilkinson and Coach Tracy Dooley:

 

“How to create a social enterprise with a compelling triple bottom line”

This workshop is aimed at people considering starting or who have recently started a social enterprise. It will be delivered by Corporate Social Responsibility expert Tracy Dooley, who is a member of the Striding Out coaching team.

“How to measure your social impact”

It will be delivered by Striding Out founder Heather Wilkinson, who is a national committee member of Social Enterprise UK.
