International Partnership Building Expert: Sally Broom the founder of international travel networking site Your Safe Planet. ‘YSP’ offer travellers a trusted friend at the other end to help plan their trip using local knowledge and be there just in case. Sally has spent 15 months developing a network of vetted contacts across the globe based on sustainable tourism principles and personal relationships. She attributes the international profile that YSP receives to the calibre of people in the network who offer travellers a truly unique experience every time they travel.
UK Trade & Investment’s International Trade Expert: David Booth is an experienced business professional with substantial knowledge and understanding of business at Board level with over 25 years experience of managing successful businesses in the UK and overseas. Before joining UK Trade & Investment he was Chief Operating Officer for a successful US company in the Telecoms sector and developed an International Network of distribution channels in Europe, Middle East and Far East. His role in the North West International Trade Team is to advise and promote UK Trade & Investment strategy on internationalisation and how the services offered by UK Trade & Investment can benefit SME companies. Using his business experience in the private sector David also advises companies looking to develop business opportunities in the USA.
International Fair Trade and CSR Expert: Anne Quinn imports and distributes freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee from Tanzania, Ethiopia and Indonesia to support educational projects; Maasai Girls into School and The Mango Tree. The coffee she supplies is premiere quality coffee and is sold under the World Class and Tancafe coffee label. World Class Coffee is one of the very few coffee companies which ensure that money, above the fair trade price is invested back into the local communities supporting education for women and children. Anne’s coffees are ethically sourced, she is committed to only purchase shade grown coffee that supports healthy environments for coffee growers and protects bird and animal habitats. The coffee beans are purchased from villages and importers that are committed to Fair Trade.
