The Dedipower Digital Awards aims to celebrate success of young British entrepreneurs and digital excellence. They are looking for up-coming enterprises with internet at its core. Dedipower Digital Awards provides young people with a platform to achieve their goals and ambitions and help change the online business landscape and promote British leadership.

There are two awards up for grabs which are divided between 17-24 and 25-30 as follows:

The DediPower UK Young Digital Entrepreneur (Age Group 17 to 24): 

This award is to be given to the standout young British digital entrepreneur up to the age of 24. The prize includes:

  • £2k business development funds
  • Up to £12.5K business investment
  • One - 2- One Business mentoring
  • 1 year free hosting with enterprise level support

The Dedipower UK Digital Innovation Award (Age Group 25 to 30): 

An award to be given to the standout young British digital entrepreneur between the age of 25 and 30 with an innovative idea or business plan. The prize includes:

  • £2K business development funds
  • Up to £12.5K business investment
  • 1 year free hosting with business level support
  • One - 2 - One Business mentoring

The contest, which is backed by Dragons’ Den star James Caan, aims to “celebrate business success” and “recognise the dedication and hard work” of small firms.
 
Prize packages made up of 50,000 Nectar Points, £2,000 cash and £2,000 credit at office suppliers Viking Direct are up for grabs in the following categories:
 

Small Business of the Year: 

  • A business that employs no more than 50 staff.
  • Have been trading for longer than two years.
  • Have a maximum annual turnover of £9m.

Entrepreneur of the Year: 

  • Be an individual(s) who has assumed the risk, organised and managed their own business.
  • Run a business with a maximum of 250 employees.
  • Be able to demonstrate net profit figures for the last business year.

Contribution to the Community Award: 

  • Be a small business or social enterprise that meets the same eligibility criteria as the Small Business of the Year category.
  • Be a business whose product or service is sold/supplied with the aim of making a positive contribution to the community it serves.
  • Be able to demonstrate how their business or enterprise serves the community.

Online Business of the Year: 

  • Be able to demonstrate how innovative use of the internet has boosted sales or grown the business.
  • Be able to demonstrate that the percentage sales figures achieved via the company's website is 70% or more.
  • Be able to submit figures to demonstrate the number of unique users per month.

A panel of experts will choose the big winners, apart from the Contribution to the Community Award category, which will be decided by a public vote.

Business Thinking Competition http://www.stridingout.co.uk/awards-and-competitions/business-thinking-competition.html http://www.stridingout.co.uk/awards-and-competitions/business-thinking-competition.html Britain’s best business brains are being urged to enter a new competition and compete for a share of a £90 million-plus prize pool.
 
Banking giant HSBC has launched Business Thinking 2010 – an enterprise initiative with an international twist.
 
More than 50 shortlisted high growth potential businesses will be invited to take part in a series of “Thought Exchange” visits to the Americas, Asia and Europe, where they will get to pick the brains of business mentors and find out about some of the ideas and management techniques that can be used to boost their firm back in the UK.
 
Eighteen cutting-edge companies – two finalists from each of the nine UK regions – will then be given access to £5 million loan finance from HSBC and a grant worth £100,000 (£200,000 for one lucky national winner) to put their innovative ideas into practice.
 
The competition is open to all UK businesses that have been trading for a minimum of two years and have an annual turnover in excess of £2 million.
 
Entries to the competition must be made online by 25 June.
