Heather Wilkinson, BA, MSc, MIED, The Founder and Managing Director

Heather Wilkinson has fused and integrated her key skills and knowledge to generate this innovative social business, a true reflection of her passion for young entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

Heather has had extensive experience working in the economic development sector for the last five years, specialising in the area of business support, social enterprise, community regeneration and corporate social responsibility. During her career she has the opportunity to work with BITC, Hertfordshire TEC and the Corporation of London. In 2002, she became a Consultant with EDAW and GHK, working with the public, private and third sector across the UK building up a unique knowledge of social business functions.

In June 2005 she left her full-time consultancy position to set up Striding Out, whilst continuing to act as an Independent Consultant, with a recognised specialism in social and youth enterprise.

Heather reflects her passion for this new venture in her commitment to providing the tools and skills needed by young entrepreneurs. Heather is herself a young entrepreneur, having established her first business 'Just Blush', at the age of 24. As a trained makeup artist, she has provides services for weddings, events, fashion shows and parties.

Heather is responsible for the Development of Striding Out and its Business Services. Her focus will be on growing and sustaining the primary services of Striding Out, through creating mutually reinforcing income generating activities and services. She has also trained as a Coach in Personal and Business Development, to deliver direct support to her peers.

Janette Fullwood, BA, Dip, PGDip, Personal Development Director

Janette is passionate about supporting young people, and has ten years experience of face to face work with young individuals aged 11 to 25. She has provided guidance, advice; motivation and support to help identify individual needs and help individuals reach their aspirations.

She has worked for Connexions, Job Centre New Deal Scheme for Under 25's; Education Business Partnership, and a Further Education College. Her experience has included delivering direct support and guidance to young people, enhancing their life skills so they are better able to handle issues including education, career guidance, family issues, housing support. She holds a Personal Adviser Diploma, Counselling Certificate and a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Education.

Janette will be responsible for the development of Personal Development Services, and managing aspects of recruitment and marketing to build the client base.
