It gives them the skills to engage and communicate with others.</p> <p><strong>The Services </strong></p> <p>The programme focuses on practical learning, including personal coaching and training methods combined with exercises to develop their skills at first hand.&nbsp;Take the Lead provides our clients with training and coaching to develop their understanding of:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership styles </li> <li>Enterprise skills </li> <li>Attributes and motivations</li> <li>Coaching tools and techniques </li> </ul> <p>The intensity and content of the training is varied depending on the previous leadership experience of the clients.&nbsp; Our training can also be accredited with a qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management ranging from Level 2 to Level 7.<strong></strong></p> <p><strong>Our Clients </strong></p> <p>We work with young people aged 16 upwards to adults who are either new leaders to senior leaders in the community or work based setting. Our diverse range of delivery staff, have the skills, experience and knowledge to work with individuals in a variety of contexts to help them develop their leadership skills. Our leadership support is often paid for by an employer, an individual or a public sector funder.</p> <p><strong>Track Record</strong></p> <p>Between December 2009 and November 2010 we have recruited 70 young people aged between 18 and 30 onto our Take the Lead programme, working with a number of partners including Elixir Foundations, London Youth and Birmingham Youth Service.</p> <p>The recruits have received leadership training and one-to-one coaching support to enable them become great leaders in their community or work place. 44 of these individuals are working towards accrediting their training with an ILM Level 2 Team Leadership Qualification and 3 have already successfully completed their qualification.</p> <p>As a result of our support, our clients feel they have:-</p> <ul> <li>Understood their own motivations better</li> <li>Defined their natural role as a leader</li> <li>Identified the difference they want to make</li> <li>Understood the different types of leadership style</li> <li>Increased confidence to take action </li> <li>A better understanding of how to motivate others</li> <li>Learnt new methods of communication to suit different audiences </li> </ul>
